AI

Let AI into the document

Not a completion box — an assistant that searches your vault, reads referenced notes, and writes straight into the editor. Bring your own key, or run a local model fully offline.

What it can do

The assistant works inside the document — reading, writing, and editing blocks — not in a chat bubble beside it.

Vault-aware

The assistant searches your vault and reads the notes you reference, so answers come from your writing — not just the model's memory.

In-place rewrites

Select text and describe the change. Edits land as a word-level diff inside the note, and nothing sticks until you accept it.

Generate structure

Press space on an empty line and ask — tables, lists, columns, whole sections arrive as real blocks, not pasted text.

Bring your own key

Point Zyler at any OpenAI-compatible endpoint — OpenAI, Anthropic, OpenRouter, or your company's gateway — and pay the provider directly.

Fully local option

Run a model with Ollama and set the endpoint to localhost. The whole loop — notes, prompts, completions — stays on your machine.

Keys in the keychain

API keys live in the system keychain, not in a config file — and never touch a server of ours, because there isn't one.

Your notes stay yours

Notes never leave your disk to make the AI work. Requests go from your machine to the provider you chose, with your key — or to a local model, and then nowhere at all.

  • No middleman: no proxy, no telemetry, no account
  • Each request sends only the context you put in front of it
  • Swap providers anytime — the notes don't move
